When will Deathloop come to Xbox? Despite the acclaimed shooter just launching for PS5 and PC, it’s a little difficult to answer that question.
Back in July, during the Deathloop-focused State of Play, Bethesda and Arkane once again confirmed that the game would be a PS5 console exclusive, it also noted in small print that Deathloop would be available on PC. However, that small print also reads “Not available on other consoles until at least 09/14/22”. This means that the earliest Xbox players can expect to enjoy the game on their console of choice is September, a year after this week’s release.
Sure, there’s no guarantee the game will arrive on Xbox 365 days after its PS5 release, but Microsoft doesn’t want to drag its feet. Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo are the only two Bethesda games coming exclusively to the PS5 following Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax, and it wants to get both games on its platform as soon as possible. It has already taken some big steps on similar fronts – Starfield PS5 Not Happening, and even a game as big as The Elder Scrolls 6 could be an Xbox exclusive.
Given that Deathloop is only available on PS5, it looks like when the game arrives on Xbox, it will be limited to launch on Xbox Series X, meaning Xbox One owners will have to opt for PC, or Will have to try and get their hands on a new console. We reached out to Bethesda for more details about Deathloop’s eventual launch on Xbox, but it declined to comment.
