Today, millions of people will gather around tables to eat turkey, hang out with friends, and give thanks. It’s Thanksgiving, one of the biggest American holidays every year. Traditionally, Thanksgiving hasn’t been a very productive day for US-based companies, with many taking the day off in celebration. However, Xbox, Nintendo, and PlayStation still had some special messages to share with fans to celebrate the occasion, and they’re all pretty sweet.

The most detailed was the Xbox One, sharing an image of an Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S bursting onto a controller with a special turkey design. This photo is a spoof of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, an annual event that has been going on since 1924. Video games are often represented in parades, as both Sonic and Pikachu have balloons shown in parades each year.

PlayStation, on the other hand, has the least detailed message to share, at least for now. The company simply tweeted a photo of Sackboy dressed in a turkey costume and dancing. As far as celebrations are concerned, it is quite a comfortable option. There’s also the chance PlayStation has more to share later in the day, as it’s still too early.

Finally, America’s official Nintendo Twitter account had a celebratory image to share as well. The post is simple, with an undocked switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons on screen. There are a few small pumpkins and leaves scattered around the scene, giving the whole picture a decidedly fall vibe. The image isn’t necessarily specific to Thanksgiving. Rather, it is merely a tribute to solidarity during the season.

It’s not uncommon for all three companies to share an image in celebration of a special event. All three accounts regularly share celebratory photos for holidays, milestones and any other big events that happen together. Xbox, in particular, will rejoice not only in its achievements, but also in the achievements of its competitors. It’s a nice little camaraderie in a competitive industry.

While these aren’t the most rocking images, it’s nice to see Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo enjoying the holidays together. So far 2021 has been an interesting year for the Games, with a slew of reveals and surprises pouring in. While fans may still be burned by the high-profile delays and difficulty of finding video game consoles, today is the day to set everything up and enjoy the holiday with friends and family.
