Xbox hardware developers are prioritizing video capture quality and sharing improvements.
as reported by VGCJason Ronald, director of Xbox Program Management, appeared on Iron Lords Podcast this last week. “I would definitely say that game DVR is one area, capture and share experiences, I wish we were able to make more progress. [on] This year compared to what we were capable of,” Ronald said when asked about the game DVR capabilities on the Xbox Series X/S console.
Ronald went on to say that this is “definitely a priority” for the Xbox folks, and that the manufacturer is actively listening to feedback about the game DVR capabilities of both new-gen consoles. “We have made some changes and we have made some improvements in reliability and quality of capture, but we know we still have work to do here,” said the director of program management.
It’s good to know that Xbox is actively looking for ways to improve both the video capture and sharing capabilities of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. There’s no doubt that the process isn’t as seamless as that on the PS5, where a user is never more than a few button presses to be able to instantly share video recordings and images on their social media feeds.
